Mending a Life

5021 N. Francisco Ave, Chicago, IL, 60625

approx. 8’ - 12’

Plywood, found objects, recycled textile

$3,500

Artist’s Note: In keeping with my Social Practice work, Before and After: Mending a Life (after a pandemic or some other catastrophic event in your life), this work is a site specific work with large red stitches, "stitched" into the ground, a large, threaded silver needle, and spool of textiles made from recycled textiles. There is much healing to do, to ameliorate violence for ourselves, our families, and our communities. This work reflects the need for mending to ensure we don't carry violent acts to the next generation.
