Artist’s Note: the insertion of a window—a portal from inside to outside. The roots of the word portal come from the Greek, poroi. Like the pores in our skin, to be porous is to be open to flow in both directions—in and out. Through the recent and ongoing COVID pandemic, we have been made aware daily of the fragility of these flows from person to person, and have adjusted accordingly. From daily interactions cut short for fear of contact, to work from home to contactless delivery of food and goods left on doorsteps.
