113 West Beverley Street, Staunton, Virginia 24401

Steel wire, wool, cotton thread, and rust

$1,200

Artist’s Note: The piece is a digital Jacquard woven image of cancer scars using wool, cotton and steel wire. After the weaving is complete the textile is wet-felted causing the wool to felt altering the size and shape of the cloth, and the steel begins to rust causing shifts in color and texture. Weaving and felting are metaphors for the gathering of experiences we have in our lives. This work is a reflection of some of the more challenging moments.
