Artist’s Note: Ghost Trains is a seven-channel video installation investigating the many visual, sculptural, and affective parallels between the train and the art of cinema. From Arrival of a Train at La Ciotat and Shanghai Express to Train Again, the locomotive is a potent if worn metaphor for adventure, wonder, and at times escape. Viewable from the CTA Blue Line train near Damen station, "Ghost Trains" hopes to spark moments of joy and inquiry in the perhaps mundane daily commute of passersby.
